A WEEK LONG LASTING MANICURE
I went to beauty school, and while I was there I was also enrolled in the nail portion of their education. It was required at the time to get educated in Nails, Hair, and Skincare. So yes, I did my share of fake nails for a semester. Smelly and super unglamorous.
Since I have my hands in water so much with shampooing clients I am always searching for the perfect solution to a long lasting manicure. I tried those seemingly cool sounding gel nails a few months ago, but I am surprisingly low maintenance for how high maintenance I come off as, and they were just too much work. And I picked at them. Super sexy.
The last time I was at the beauty supply I asked for their longest lasting polish, and they suggested the CND VINYLUX. Much to my delight it was the longest lasting polish I had ever had, and at that, it lasted about 4 to 5 days – which isn’t bad considering how often my digits are immersed in agua.
So I reached back to my beauty school knowledge and thought I would give a nail dehydrator a spin. I remembered this being an integral part of the fake nail process. It worked.
8 days later I am still sporting the same exact mani I gave myself over a week ago. Now I am re-polishing simply because I want a new color, and not because I have to. Mandy #FTW!
After you have removed polish, filed, and cleaned up your cuticles use these steps at the point of polish:
*Do a final swipe with pure acetone remover. (This removes any left-over oil from your nail beds and allows your nail polish to better adhere to your beds.
*Swipe your nails with nail dehydrator. We use the Starpro Natural Nail dehydrator. You could probably purchase any though.
*Apply two coats of a VINYLUX Weekly polish of your choice.
*Apply a base coat of the CND VINYLUX Weekly Top Coat.*Apply two coats of a VINYLUX Weekly polish of your choice.
*Finish it off with a top coat of your choosing. Sit patiently for fifteen minutes and let your digits dry.
